Visiting & green fees
Can visitors play the Met?
Yes. Visitors and groups are welcome Sunday through Friday, all year round. Advance booking is essential, especially on weekends.
How do I book a tee time?
Book online through the club's Clubmaster tee sheet on the Green Fees page, with live availability. Prefer to talk to someone? Email bookings@metropolitangolf.co.za or call us on 021 430 6011.
What do green fees cost?
Visitor green fees start from R415 for 9 holes (affiliated). Full member and visitor rates, group rates and equipment hire are all listed on the Green Fees page, effective 1 June 2026.
Is there a dress code?
Yes. Strictly golf apparel and soft spikes are required on the course and in the clubhouse.
On the day
Can I hire a cart, clubs or a caddie?
Yes. Drive carts, pull-carts, club hire and caddies are all available. Please book club hire ahead through the pro shop.
Can I warm up before my round?
There are warm up nets by the 1st tee, a putting and chipping green and two swing studios for lessons and fittings.
Is there food and drink?
The halfway house serves food mid-round, and the 19th bar and deck overlook the 18th green. The bar is open from 11:00 to 21:00.
Are dogs allowed on the course?
No dogs on the course, please.
Membership
How do I become a member?
Email the membership office at info@metropolitangolf.co.za and we will walk you through the categories and the joining process.
What membership categories are there?
Full, 5-Day, Associate (29 to 35), Age 24 to 28, Student and Scholar categories, with 9-Hole options on the Full, Associate and Student categories. Every category comes with an official GolfRSA handicap. Member green fees start from R235 for 9 holes.
Do members get an official handicap?
Yes. An official GolfRSA handicap is available to members, including on 9-Hole membership.
Getting here & hosting
Where is the club?
Fritz Sonnenberg Road, Mouille Point, Cape Town, about five minutes from the V&A Waterfront and the CBD.
What are your opening hours?
Season (October to March) 06:30 to 19:00; off-season (April to September) 07:00 to 18:00. The bar is open 11:00 to 21:00 in season and 11:00 to 19:00 off-season.
Can I host a golf day or function?
Yes. See our Corporate Golf and Functions pages, or contact the office on 021 430 6011. Our venue seats up to 80 guests.
